What is Let Them Eat Crow

We reclaim our right to be in the world on our terms.

For many of us, that right was taken long before we knew it could be.

We were taught who to fear.

What to value.

Which lives mattered.

Which questions not to ask.

Many of us didn’t just survive those systems.

We believed in them, defended them, prayed for them,

and…

helped perpetuate them ourselves.

That is why we built Let Them Eat Crow.

We know these systems because we lived inside them.

Know the language they use and the assumptions they rely on.

We know how institutions protect themselves,

harm becomes ordinary,

and how compassion is narrowed in service of someone else’s invisible war.

This publication is our investigation.

Not only into what happened to us, but into how it happened, how it continues to happen, and how we are reclaiming our humanity in spite of it.

We are The Murder.

Like a murder of crows, we gather to observe, investigate, remember, and rebuild.

Our work unfolds through four interconnected nests:

The Murder – where we work together to understand what shaped us as religious trauma survivors and what becomes possible beyond it.

Institutional Capture – where we identify recurring patterns, compare institutions, and document how systems shape the worlds we inhabit.

Representation Saves Lives – where we explore how stories expand compassion by opening windows into lives beyond our own

Embodied Storycraft – where we consider how attention, character, and craft shape our understanding of ourselves and one another.

Together, these are different ways of reclaiming what was taken from us.

Not simply our voices.

Our humanity.
